The film follows the owners, teams and harness racing drivers leading up to the most prestigious race of the calendar year, the BOV Tazza I-Kbira 2024. It reveals the intense commitment and ever-important connection between the drivers and their horses as they follow their dreams to the finish line. In a year marked by historic milestones, Dreamer Boys captures the raw emotion, dedication and timeless spirit that makes harness racing not just a sport, but a cherished way of life for the Maltese people.

The film opens at the start of the season and introduces several distinctive teams. Each team brings a unique story and motivation for the cup, representing different parts of the harness racing world, from junior pro athletes to seasoned pros. Through their perspectives, the audience discovers the history of the Marsa track, family legacies and hometown pride.
